Learn how to make an Easter charcuterie board with a cute bunny shape made out of cheese! Featuring a collection of fresh fruit, veggies, nuts, meat, and cheese, it’s an easy appetizer or snack perfect for celebrating the holiday.
I started making charcuterie boards and grazing platters like my Santa charcuterie board and Christmas grazing platter as a fun way to bring a little more nutrition into holiday gatherings. However, they’ve been such a hit that I’ve started to make them for every occasion.
With Easter right around the corner, I jumped at the chance to try out an Easter bunny charcuterie board, and everyone loved it!
Quick and easy to make, it turns out so cute and is full of tastes and textures to satisfy every preference and craving. I like to put it out for a light lunch that I know my kids will enjoy eating, but it’s also great for parties and family gatherings.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!
• Cheese - I include red cheddar, white cheddar, round Brie, and Babybel or small round cheese.
• Meat - I typically use salami and chorizo for a savory, spicy taste. However, if you can’t find chorizo, spicy salami will also work.
• Fresh Produce - Blackberries, blueberries, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, mini lemons, and mini bell peppers add color and crunch and make for great dippers.
• Extras - Honey, walnuts, almonds, and crackers add extra flavor and crunch. You can use any plain or flavored nuts and crackers you like best.
How to Make a Savory Easter Bunny Charcuterie Board
1. Arrange the Brie at the base of your chopping or charcuterie board, letting about a third extend outside the edge.
2. Cut the cheese along the edge of the board, creating a curved piece. Use this to shape bunny ears. Then, place them on top of the Brie wheel.
3. Spoon the honey into a small bowl.
4. Roll the salami and stack the pieces on top of each other. Arrange the meat around the Brie bunny.
5. Next, arrange the ingredients around the bunny.
6. Add the Babybel tail on top of the Brie cheese wheel, and enjoy!
Tips for Success
• Always start by making the bunny! This serves as the base of the Easter charcuterie board, making it look both cute and organized.
• Spoon any dips or spreads, like the honey, into a small bowl.
• Use a crinkle cutter to cut the cucumber for extra dimension and to make it a little more fun.
• Alternate ingredients, placing different colors and textures next to each other.
• Keep all the ingredients cold before assembling and serving.
FAQs
Can I make an Easter charcuterie board ahead of time?
This board is best served right away. However, if needed, you can assemble all the ingredients and cover the board tightly with plastic wrap. Store it in the fridge for up to one day.
What else can I add to my Easter bunny charcuterie board?
Mix and match the ingredients you have on hand for this Easter-themed charcuterie board! Include extra produce like grapes, strawberries, orange slices, kiwis, broccoli, cauliflower, or carrots. Add to or swap out the cheese with options like goat cheese, Boursin cheese, or mozzarella. Mix and match cured meats such as prosciutto, capicola, or pepperoni.
Then, add even more flavor and interest with additions like pretzels, crostini, phyllo feta fries, focaccia garlic bread, hummus, or tzatziki. The options are truly endless!
How can I cater to different allergy needs when making a charcuterie board?
You can easily omit any allergen-containing ingredients like nuts or cheese. Another option is to create different sections of the board and label them “dairy-free,” “nut-free,” etc, or make a few smaller boards to meet various needs.
