Melt your favorite chocolate and add it to a piping utensil or bag. Pipe a wreath shape onto parchment paper and then top with the colorful chocolate eggs. You can even use your favorite candy, chocolate chips, or holiday sprinkles.

Enjoy the Easter bark as it is, break it into smaller chunks to add to lunchboxes, or top it onto a cake for a beautiful centerpiece. It’s a fun addition to your festive dessert board or themed birthday parties throughout the year.

❤️Why You’ll Love this Easter Bark

  • Fun activity to make with kids.
  • Delicious spring treat everyone will love.
  • Beautiful centerpiece for your Easter gatherings.

Tip

Make mini chocolate bark with any spare chocolate and eggs you might have. Add chocolate blobs to parchment paper, top with a chocolate egg, and allow to set. Great for bite-sized snacking.

Easter Bark Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate: I like to use one with 55% cocoa solids, but choose your favorite dark, milk, or white chocolate.
  • White chocolate: For the ears. Take extra care when melting white chocolate so it doesn’t burn.
  • Chocolate eggs: Use two different sizes in assorted colors for the best results. Cadbury mini eggs or similar are perfect for the smaller size.
  • Candy eyes: Adds the finishing touches. You can omit or make your own (see FAQs). Find candy eyes in the baking aisle at larger supermarkets.

Recipe Tip

Outline the chocolate bark with chocolate pearls or round sprinkles.

How to Make Easter Bark

  1. Shape the chocolate base: Melt the chocolate, fill a piping tip or bag, and pipe the chocolate bark.
  2. Add the eggs: Working inside out, arrange the chocolate eggs onto the bark. First, the mini eggs, then a row of larger eggs, and then the mini eggs again.
  3. Final details: Pipe the white chocolate ears and top them with the bark. Add the eyes and nose details. Allow to set.

Possible Variations

  • Chocolate: Use any kind of chocolate you prefer, plain or flavored.
  • Chocolate eggs: Arrange them as I have, or place them randomly.
  • Toppings: Swap chocolate eggs for pretzels, M&M’s, jelly beans, and more of your favorite Easter candies.
  • Sprinkles: Add any bright or Easter-themed pastel sprinkles (available at craft stores).
  • Base: Crushed graham crackers, cookies, wafers, or matzo crackers make a delicious base if you’d like to add crunch. Arrange a single layer on parchment or wax paper, then pipe the chocolate bark on top.
  • Presentation: Instead of a wreath, shape the bark like a whole easter bunny, with a round head and round body.
  • Size: Make mini versions to top onto cupcakes and other desserts.

How to Store Leftovers

Keep leftovers in an airtight container on your kitchen counter, or in the fridge if it’s warm where you are. Enjoy within 4-5 days.

FAQs

I don’t have candy eyes. Can I make my own?

Yes! Dollop a small spoonful of melted white chocolate onto parchment paper, top with chocolate chips, black sesame seeds, or black, round sprinkles and allow to set.

How do I serve the Easter Bark?

Place it on a large chopping board or flat platter, and let everyone break off their own piece.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams dark chocolate
  • 200 grams chocolate eggs, mini
  • 240 grams chocolate eggs, medium
  • 50 grams white chocolate
  • 2 candy eyes

Instructions

  • Melt the dark chocolate.
  • Add the melted chocolate to a piping utensil or bag. You may need to work in batches like I did if you use a piping tool and it doesn't all fit at once.
  • Pipe a smaller circle of chocolate onto parchment paper (about 10 cm / 4-5 inches in diameter).
  • Pipe a larger circle around the smaller one (around 22-25 cm / 9-10 inches) to make a chocolate wreath.
  • Fill the space in between the two circles with dark chocolate.
  • Now for the fun part: Arrange the various-sized chocolate eggs on top of the wreath.
  • Top with two candy eyes and a chocolate nose (use melted chocolate to 'glue' them on).
  • To make the ears melt the white chocolate.
  • Add the melted chocolate to a piping utensil or bag (or spoon it onto parchment paper).
  • Shape the white chocolate into two chocolate ears.
  • Top with two pink chocolate eggs and allow to set.
  • Once set, arrange the bunny ears onto a platter.
  • Top with the chocolate egg wreath.
  • Serve.
