Easter is the perfect time of the year to get creative with festive chocolate recipes, like these Easter bunny chocolate strawberries, which are surprisingly easy to make.
Strawberry bunnies are a yummy treat and a fun alternative to plain chocolate-covered strawberries.
Serve them on a delicious dessert platter with all your favorite chocolate eggs and candies, or top them onto a layered cake for a delightful Easter centerpiece.
You can make them in advance, just store them in the refrigerator until ready.
For a pop of color, top the melted white chocolate bunnies with any colored sprinkles you like. You can even pipe an easter egg or chick shape for an irresistible Easter trio no one can resist.
Ingredients
- white chocolate
- dark chocolate
- strawberries
- mini candy eyes
- white sprinkles (jimmies)
- small round sprinkles (black)
- parchment paper
- a toothpick
Instructions
1. Wash and dry the strawberries.
2. Trim the leaves off the strawberries so they have a flat base and can stand.
3. Melt the white chocolate.
4. Add the melted chocolate to a piping utensil or a piping bag. You can also use a zip-lock freezer bag (snip a tiny hole in one corner).
5. Pipe the bunnies and ears onto parchment paper. You want to leave a round space in the middle for the tip of the berries.
6. Use a toothpick to smooth over the chocolate.
7. Allow to set.
8. Use white chocolate to stick the candy eyes onto the tip of the strawberries.
9. Stick on a round sprinkle for the nose, as well as four white jimmies for whiskers.
10. Melt the dark chocolate.
11. Add the dark chocolate in a piping utensil or bag.
12. Trace the outline of the white chocolate bunnies with the dark chocolate.
13. Pipe the inside of the ears.
14. Allow to set.
15. Place a white chocolate bunny over each strawberry once the chocolate has hardened.
16. Serve.
