Share the love on Valentine’s Day with these easy-to-follow and possibly too-cute-to-eat chocolate hedgehogs. Send them off in a lunchbox, or make a whole hedgehog family to serve with your Valentine’s Day dessert. And you don’t have to wait an entire year to make them again, even though the name suggests it, just any time you need a chocolate (hedge)hug.
Ingredients
- strawberries
- milk chocolate (or dark)
- chocolate sprinkles
- candy eyes
- piping utensil / bag
- parchment paper
- toothpick
Instructions
1. Cut the strawberries flat at the leafy end so they can stand upright.
2. Melt the chocolate and pour it into a piping utensil / bag.
3. Pipe the chocolate in an oval shape onto parchment paper for the hedgehog’s body. Leave a round hole in the center.
4. Top with sprinkles along the perimeter for the quills.
5. Leave to set.
6. Pipe the chocolate nose on the pointy top of the strawberry.
7. Use melted chocolate and a toothpick to stick the candy eyes in place above the nose.
8. Once set, position the hedgehog’s body over the face.
9. Serve.
