An apple a day is what they say, so have fun with it and try these adorable melon and mango apple bites.
Serve plain or top onto salads, cakes, and fruit skewers. You can even make a smaller version and enjoy with your Summer drinks.
If you can't find a Piel de Sapo melon, use any melon with a whiteish flesh.
Ingredients
- Piel de Sapo melon
- mango
- sesame seeds
- basil
- round cookie cutter
- large heart-shaped cookie cutter
- small heart-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
1. Slice the fruit. Make sure they are the same thickness.
2. Use the round cutter to shape the mango.
3. Trim the round disc of the mango using the larger heart-shaped cookie cutter to resemble an apple.
4. Cut hearts from the melon and the center of the mango using the smaller heart-shaped cutter.
5. Fill the mango with the melon hearts.
6. Top with five sesame seeds for the core.
7. Make a small hole at the top of the apple using a toothpick.
8. Insert a basil leaf.
Notes
You can freeze any leftover pieces of fruit and use them in your next smoothie.
