Cherry Chocolates are a delicious treat, pairing sweet and tart cherries with bitter, velvety dark chocolate.
Enjoy these moreish chocolate covered cherries as they are, or top them onto desserts.
They would even make a tasty addition to any sweet platter or as an after-dinner petit four.
Feel free to use dark or milk chocolate for this recipe and swap for maraschino cherries when fresh are out of season.
Try sprinkling the chocolate with flaky sea salt to enhance the chocolate flavor. So good.

Ingredients
- 10 cherries
- 100 grams dark chocolate
- fresh basil (or mint)
- piping utensil / bag
- parchment paper
Instructions
Makes 10.
1. Melt the dark chocolate.
2. Put the melted chocolate into a piping utensil / bag.
3. Pipe a round blob of dark chocolate onto parchment paper.
4. Place the cherry (with the stem) on top and press it down so the chocolate spreads out underneath the cherry.
5. Allow the chocolate cherries to set.
6. Top one corner of a small basil leaf with dark chocolate.
7. Stick the leaf onto the top of the cherry stems using chocolate as glue and leave it to set. You can also place the basil leaf in the dark chocolate blob before you top it with the cherries - especially if you don't want to use the stem.
8. Serve.
