With a sweet watermelon center, a crunchy cucumber frame, and black sesame seeds, these skewers are meant to look like mini melon wedges.

Enjoy these refreshing snacks as they are, or drizzle them with lime juice or soy sauce. You can even top them on avocado toast (without the toothpicks).

Serving Suggestion

Garnish the mini wedges onto colorful cocktails and fruit platters!

Mini Watermelon Snacks Ingredients

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for the complete details!

  • Watermelon: Use a firm, sweet, and ideally seedless watermelon for the best results.
  • Cucumber: Opt for an English or Persian cucumber. The circumference of the cucumber needs to be larger than the round cookie cutter.
  • Sesame seeds: Black sesame seeds will look the most authentic. Wet a toothpick and use it to place each seed precisely.

How to Make Mini Watermelon Snacks

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Slice the watermelon and cucumber. Cut out watermelon discs with the round cutter. Repeat with the cucumber.
  2. Assemble: Remove the cucumber discs and replace them with watermelon.
  3. Halve the cucumber and watermelon discs and insert a toothpick into each half.
  4. Final details: Top with black sesame seeds.

Possible Variations

  • Watermelon: Swap for yellow watermelon, cantaloupe, mango, or strawberry.
  • Cucumber: No real alternative here.
  • Sesame seeds: Chia seeds, nigella seeds, or omit.

Recipe Tip

Use your leftover cucumber slices in salads, juices, or poké bowls.
