An Autumnal take on a fruit and vegetable platter, with these kiwi acorns and carrot fallen leaves. They are perfect for Thanksgiving or as an after-school snack board. You can top them with candy eyes or omit them.
Ingredients
- kiwis
- carrots
- curved sprinkles
- candy eyes
- leaf cookie cutters
Instructions
Kiwi acorn instructions:
1. To make the kiwi acorns start by halving the kiwi lengthwise.
2. Score the top of the kiwi and peel the kiwi below this point.
3. Dry the kiwi halves with a kitchen towel.
4. Top with candy eyes and a curved sprinkle for the mouth.
Carrot leaves instructions:
1. To make the carrot leaves, start by peeling the carrots.
2. Halve them lengthwise, if they are particularly long.
3. Cut into slices (about 0.5 cm. thick / 0.2 inches)
4. Use the leaf cutters to shape the leaves.
5. Make a small indent down the middle of the leaf.
6. Top with candy eyes.
7. Arrange on a platter and serve.
