Prep Time: 30 min.

It doesn't get more festive than these cream cheese and smoked salmon Christmas Crostini.

They resemble little presents and make the perfect holiday appetizer for your guests this December. You could even serve them at birthday parties or anniversaries.

For other topping ideas, swap cream cheese for goat cheese or make a delicious whipped feta. And feel free to use cucumber strips, bresaola, or ham instead of salmon.

You can make these fun holiday crostini in advance so there's more time to enjoy the festivities with your guests.

Ingredients

Instructions

Makes 7.

1. Cut 7 slices of baguette.

2. Heat a pan on medium-high.

3. Add half the butter to the pan (or use olive oil).

4. When the butter is bubbly, top with the slices of bread.

5. Once the slices are golden on one side, turn over until golden and crispy on the other.

6. Allow the crostini to cool on a piece of kitchen roll.

7. Mix the other half of the butter with chopped dill, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, sea salt, and pepper.

8. Spread a thin layer of dill butter on the crostini slices.

9. Top with cream cheese.

10. Slice the smoked salmon into 7 long and 7 short strips (the length and width of the bread).

11. To make the bows, you'll need one long rectangular slice and a thinner piece of salmon to fold over the middle.

12. Arrange the salmon strips and bows on top of the crostini.

13. Squeeze lemon juice on top.

14. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.

15. Top with a few sprigs of dill.

16. Serve.
