Try this fun twist on a quesadilla with these cheddar and tomato tortilla flowers. You can serve them with dip or even top them onto salads.
Ingredients
- 2 tortillas
- 150 grams red cheddar (grated)
- 4 grape tomatoes
- 8 fresh basil leaves
- 8 toothpicks
- heart-shaped cookie cutters (medium)
Instructions
Makes 8.
1. Top the grated cheese onto the tortillas.
2. Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted. (I did two minutes on broil).
3. Allow to cool slightly.
4. Use the heart-shaped cutter to make the tortilla hearts.
5. Slice the tomatoes.
6. Assemble the flowers with three hearts, a slice of tomato and a basil leaf.
7. Secure with a toothpick.
