Made with four simple ingredients, they come together with no actual baking required, meaning they’re foolproof and quick to prepare.

My kids love decorating faces and always look forward to leaving out a platter of other Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve for Santa. However, I also serve these festive cookies at parties and wrap them up with other holiday favorites like my chocolate snowflakes and chocolate Christmas trees to give away as gifts. They’re always a huge hit!

Recipe Tip

Serve the treats at your next holiday gathering or as a fun afternoon snack. Just be sure to save Santa one or two.

Cookies for Santa Ingredients

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!

  • Biscuits: I use rectangular butter biscuits covered in dark chocolate.
  • Dark chocolate: Opt for chocolate with 55-70% cocoa solids.
  • White chocolate: Use a high-quality chocolate bar for that smooth finish. I love the addition of vanilla in white chocolate.
  • Candy eyes: Available at large supermarkets and bake shops.

How to Make Santa’s Cookies

  1. Melt the white chocolate, then dip the biscuits 3/4 of the way up, lengthwise. Top with candy eyes and allow to set.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and pour it into a piping bag.
  3. Outline the white chocolate ‘milk’ with dark chocolate to make it look like a 3D glass.
  4. Shape a smile with a toothpick and dark chocolate.

Possible Variations

  • Biscuits: Swap for any rectangular chocolate bars or cookies you like.
  • Dark chocolate: Swap for milk chocolate.
  • White chocolate: White chocolate chips are an option, too.
  • Candy eyes: Use round sprinkles or black sesame seeds for the eyes, or omit.

How to Store Leftovers

Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature unless it’s hot where you are, then store the treats in the fridge.
