Prep Time: 30 min.
This adorable Valentine's Bunny Crostini recipe features pesto, tomato, basil, and mozzarella. It's a fun appetizer served in the cutest way.
Make them for your family, friends, or that special someone who least expects it.
You could also serve these bunny crostini for Easter and replace the tomato hearts with mini carrots.
Ingredients
- butter
- baguette
- fresh mozzarella
- grape tomatoes
- pesto
- black sesame seeds
- fresh basil
- petal-shaped cookie cutter
- small round cookie cutter
- medium round cookie cutter
Instructions
1. Slice the baguette.
2. Fry 2-3 tablespoons of butter in a medium-hot pan.
3. Place the bread slices in the hot butter and brown them on both sides (you can add extra butter when it’s time to flip them). It will take about 2 minutes per side, depending on heat.
4. Remove and allow to cool.
5. Slice the mozzarella.
6. Use the medium round cutter to shape the bunny’s body out of mozzarella and the small round cutter for the face.
7. Make the ears out of mozzarella with the petal-shaped cutter or just cut this part by hand.
8. Top the crostini with pesto.
9. Use sesame seeds for the eyes and nose.
10. Cut a grape tomato at a slant and then halve each piece symmetrically.
11. Now match the halves so you have two flat hearts.
12. Place a tomato heart on top of each bunny.
13. Serve.
