Ingredients You'll Need

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!

• Hot smoked salmon: Use any hot smoked salmon (plain, garlic, or spicy).

• Greek yogurt: I always opt for 10% for the creamiest taste, but use whichever yogurt you prefer.

• Crème fraîche: Adds a tangy flavor that complements the salmon. Swap for sour cream.

• Lemon: You will need the juice of half a lemon. Slice the remaining lemon to garnish your platter.

• Cucumber: Pairs well with the creamy dip and gives a nice crunch. English or Persian cucumbers are the best options.

• Seasoning: Add sea salt and ground pepper to taste. The smoked salmon is already quite salty, so taste as you go.

How to Make Hot Smoked Salmon Dip

1. Prepare the ingredients. Shred the hot smoked salmon and slice the cucumber. Halve one lemon and slice the remaining lemon. Then, halve the lemon slices.

2. Make the dip. Mix the shredded hot smoked salmon with Greek yogurt, crème fraîche, fresh dill, and lemon juice. Season to taste.

3. Plate the dip. Place a bowl in the middle of a platter. Arrange cucumber slices around it. Remove the bowl and spoon the dip in the center. Top with lemon slices and serve.

Possible Variations

• Hot smoked salmon: Swap it for another smoked fish, such as trout or mackerel.

• Greek yogurt: Try cream cheese or mayo. You may need to add more lemon juice.

• Herbs: Instead of fresh dill, use dried dill, or try chopped fresh parsley, coriander, basil, or green onions.

• Add spice: For a spicy kick, add sriracha, jalapenos, Tabasco, fresh chili, hot honey, or dried chili flakes.
