We love to give them away as gifts, wrapping them up with other festive ideas like Christmas treatschocolate snowflakes, and cookies for Santa. They’re delicious as is for a chocolatey snack, but are also great for stirring into hot cocoa or decorating Christmas cakes.

Mix and match different types of chocolates, create different shapes, or add various toppings to make these holiday treats your own. There’s really no right or wrong. Quick and easy, these holiday treats are sure to become a favorite easy Christmas dessert!

Serving Suggestion

The trees make beautiful cake toppers with a dusting of icing sugar for that elegant Wintery touch.

Holiday Treats Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate: I like to use a good-quality chocolate bar with 55-70% cocoa solids.
  • Mini marshmallows: To make the little gifts under the tree.

How to Make Holiday Treats

  1. Melt the dark chocolate and add it to a piping utensil or bag.
  2. Prepare the marshmallow gifts: Pipe chocolate ribbon details onto the mini marshmallows.
  3. Prepare the chocolate trees: Pipe them onto canapé sticks.
  4. Final details: Add sprinkles and top the gifts with the mini gifts. Allow to set.

Possible Variations

  • Dark chocolate: Swap for milk or white chocolate, or try a flavored variety like mint or coffee.
  • Mini marshmallows: Make the gifts out of chocolate instead.
  • Add-ins: Top the melted chocolate with finely chopped pistachios, crushed candy canes, or sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Star canapé sticks: Any sticks will do, or you can omit.

How to Store Leftovers

Keep leftover chocolate trees in an airtight container at room temperature, unless it’s warm where you are, then store them in the fridge. They will last for up to a week.
