Wow your guests with this delicious feta and cucumber Christmas tree. Nothing is wasted, as the cutouts you have from the cucumber are reused as little presents to go under the tree. If you are short on time, you can just make a few bites and place them on a cocktail stick with basil. Yum.
Ingredients
- cucumber
- feta
- basil
- yellow peppers
- yellow cherry tomatoes
- lime
- pepper
- salt
- star-shaped cookie cutter
- small square cookie cutter
Instructions
1 Cut slices of cucumber. Make sure they are somewhat the same width.
2. Use the square cutter to make a hole in the center of the cucumber slices.
3. Trim the feta so it is the same width as the cucumber slices.
4. Use the square cutter to cut pieces of feta, and fill these in the cucumber.
5. Assemble the feta and cucumber pieces in the shape of a tree.
6. Top with basil, a squeeze of lime, salt and pepper.
7. Halve the cherry tomatoes and top as baubles.
8. Make a star out of yellow pepper and place it at the top.
9. Slice some feta for the trunk.
10. Use the remaining cucumber squares to make little gifts to place under the tree.
11. You can slice some cucumber peel strips to make the gift ribbon.
