It starts with cream cheese and a soft tortilla. Then, I add ham, cheese, fresh veggies, and aioli, and wrap it all up. Every bite is crisp, creamy, savory, and deliciously satisfying.

I love to make these salad wraps for a quick, packed lunch, but they’re also great for picnics and meal prep. Add a melon saladwatermelon salsa, or bacon pasta salad  when feeding a crowd, and you’ve got the perfect summer meal. Mix and match the ingredients to switch up the flavor and use up any ingredients you have on hand, and you’ll never get bored. 

Salad Wrap Ingredients

  • Tortilla: I use regular-sized plain white tortillas (about 22 cm or 9 inches).
  • Cream cheese: Garlic and herb flavor and full-fat.
  • Ham: 2 large slices of ham or 4 smaller slices.
  • Cheddar: I use red cheddar.
  • Salad: Iceberg, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and avocado.
  • Aioli: Chili aioli for that kick of spice.
  • Seasoning: Sea salt and black pepper to balance all the flavors.

How to Make a Salad Wrap

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash and dry the iceberg. Peel and chop the cucumber, avocado, and cherry tomatoes.
  2. Spread cream cheese onto the tortilla.
  3. Top with ham, cheddar, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. Drizzle garlic aioli on top and season well.
  4. Roll up the tortilla tightly and slice in half.

Possible Variations

  • Tortilla: Use gluten-free, corn, whole wheat wraps, spinach wraps, or flavored tortillas, as you prefer. If you like to fold in the sides of your wrap, opt for a larger-sized tortilla.
  • Cheddar: White cheddar, Swiss cheese, Gouda, Emmentaler, or Havarti.
  • Ham: Swap for salami, bresaola, turkey, bacon, chicken breast, chicken salad, or chorizo.
  • Cream cheese: Try plain or herby cream cheese instead.
  • Aioli: Mayo or pesto.
  • Add-ins: Olives, chickpeas, beans, peppers, arugula, romaine lettuce, caramelized onions, pickled onions, tortilla chips, or fresh herbs.

Meal Prep Tip

If you roll the wrap in parchment paper and twist the ends, you can save it for later, bring it to work, or even take it on a picnic when the weather permits.

Ingredients 

  • 1 tortilla, plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, garlic
  • 3 iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 3 slices cheddar, red
  • 60 grams ham, large
  • 3 tablespoons cucumber, chopped, peeled
  • 1/2 avocado, diced
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon aioli, chili
  • sea salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

Instructions 

  • Spread the cream cheese onto the tortilla wrap.
  • Place the lettuce leaves on top, followed by ham, cheddar cheese, chopped cucumber, half an avocado (diced), and cherry tomatoes.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
  • Dollop chili aioli or chili mayo on top.
  • Roll the wrap tightly.
