Made with dark chocolate, green grapes, and chocolate ball sprinkles, they are perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, and birthdays.

Pipe the heart-shaped chocolates onto a lolly stick for mess-free eating, or wrap them in cellophane and gift them to anyone who enjoys a sweet treat.

Four Grape Chocolate Hearts are decorated with green grapes arranged like flowers with small chocolate balls along the edges.

Feel free to swap for milk chocolate, and if you can’t find chocolate ball sprinkles, just use mini chocolate chips.

Grape Chocolate Hearts Ingredients

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!

  • Dark chocolate: Use a good-quality dark chocolate or baking chocolate.
  • Grapes: Look for firm, oblong (and bright) green grapes. Red or purple grapes would be cute, too.
  • Chocolate balls: Use to outline and frame the hearts. I buy them online (see link below).
A bunch of green grapes, a glass bowl with chocolate squares, and a small dish with chocolate balls.

How to Make Grape Chocolate Hearts

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Melt the dark chocolate, find similarly sized grapes, and halve them.
  2. Pipe the hearts: Pour the melted chocolate into a piping bag or tip and pipe a heart onto parchment paper.
  3. Add the grapes: Top the chocolate hearts with grape halves to resemble flowers.
  4. Final details: Arrange the chocolate balls along the outline of the hearts. Allow them to set.

Tips for Success

  • If you can’t find chocolate balls, use similar round sprinkles or mini chocolate chips.
  • Be sure to dry the halved grapes with a paper towel to ensure the chocolate sticks properly.
  • Pipe the hearts onto baking parchment, then lift them off carefully once set.

Where to Buy?

Chocolate ball sprinkles are available on Amazon.

FAQs

What chocolate do you recommend?

I use a baking chocolate or my favorite good-quality dark chocolate with around 55-70% cocoa solids. Avoid chocolate melts. If you find the chocolate is too thick, add a teaspoon of neutral coconut oil to make it easier to pipe.

Can I make these in advance?

Yes, preparing the hearts a few hours ahead is fine. Since the fruit is cut, they need to be enjoyed the same day you make them.

Can I use other fruits than grapes?

You can swap for raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, kiwi berries, or physalis.

Hi, I know, I’m so sorry! Hoping they will restock soon. Look out for a Lekue Decopen (also sold out on Amazon). Perhaps you can find it locally to you?
