The combination of juicy, fresh strawberries with rich, dark chocolate is always a winner, and the fact that they look like flowers just adds to the cuteness.

A hand holds a lollipop shaped like a tulip, made from a halved strawberry dipped in chocolate with two green leaves at the base—a creative bite perfect for health-conscious food recipes, against a gray textured background.

Creating these chocolate lollipops is as easy as it gets. They’re perfect for everyday get-togethers, picnics, and special occasions such as Mother’s Day, birthdays, and Valentine’s Day.

Serving Suggestion

For another fun way to enjoy them, stick them into ice cream or cupcakes.

How to Make Strawberry Snacks

  1. Slice the strawberries.
  2. Cut a V-shape at the pointy end.
  3. Melt the chocolate and dollop it onto parchment paper. Spread it using a toothpick.
  4. Arrange two lemon balm leaves and the strawberry flower on top. Insert the lolly stick.

Tips for Success

  • Be sure to dry the strawberry slices on a paper towel, so the chocolate will stick.
  • Choose pointy-shaped strawberries for the best results.
  • Don’t slice the berries too thin.
  • If you don’t have enough chocolate for the lolly to stick, spoon a bit directly onto the stick, then insert it.

Possible Variations

  • Dark chocolate: Swap for white or milk chocolate, or even flavored chocolates such as caramel, coffee, or nuts.
  • Strawberries: Cut out flower shapes using watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, dragonfruit, grapes, or kiwi. Shape by hand or with flower cookie cutters.
  • Lemon balm: You can use mint or omit.
  • Add crunch: Pipe the chocolate discs onto graham crackers, cookies, or pretzels. Then top with the strawberry flowers.
  • Presentation: For a bigger bite, halve the strawberries instead of slicing, cut out the V-shape, then place them face down into the chocolate.

How to Store Leftovers

Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge. Enjoy them on the same day.

FAQs

Can I make these chocolate snacks in advance?

Yes, a few hours in advance is fine, any longer than that and the strawberry may start to seep and detach from the chocolate.

Can I freeze the treats?

Yes, you can freeze them (without the lemon balm leaves).

I don’t have lolly sticks. Can I still make these?

Absolutely! They’ll make a great summer snack with or without the lolly sticks.
