If you want to impress your kids, make these adorable Squirrel Shaped Avocado Snacks with candy eyes and cheddar teeth.

Using the whole avocado (including the pit) this charming pair is best served with a sprinkle of sea salt or with their morning eggs.
How to Make Squirrel Shaped Avocado Snacks
- Halve the avocado and slice off the bottom (you’ll need these pieces to make the squirrel details).
- Shape the tail, ears, snout, nose, arms, and legs with the help of cookie cutters.
- Arrange all the elements. Insert toothpicks to attach the ears (remove before eating).
- Top with cheddar teeth and candy eyes.
- Remove half the peel from the pit and place it in the center.
Recipe Tip
To prevent browning and discolouration, drizzle the avocado with lemon or lime juice.

Squirrel Shaped Avocado Snacks
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- white cheddar, small piece
- 4 candy eyes
Instructions
- Cut the avocado in half.
- Slice the bottom side of both halves, so the avocado can lie flat. These pieces will be used for the hands, feet, ears, mouth, nose and tail.
- Use the oval-shaped cookie cutter to trim the hands and feet.
- Cut triangles for the ears. Attach them by placing them on top of the tips of toothpicks.
- Shape and trim the mouth.
- Shape the nose using the small petal-shaped cutter.
- If you don’t have enough leftover avocado to shape a big tail, you can just make a smaller one. Alternatively, you may need to use the peel from another avocado.
- Cut along the middle of the avocado pit. Remove the peel from the bottom half. This should peel off fairly easily. If not you can use a small knife.
- Cut four small rectangles out of cheese for each tooth.
- Assemble the squirrels.
