Everyone will love these Baked Tortilla Appetizers, which feature crispy tortillas, creamy avocado, salty feta, and a hint of lemony za'atar. They make the perfect go-to game day or party appetizer, and even the kids will be thrilled if you serve them as an after-school snack!

This baked tortilla recipe is a fun and easy alternative to pinwheels or tortilla roll-ups. You can customize it however you like, so feel free to use guacamole, salsa, sour cream, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, pesto, ham, crunchy bacon, or green onion - the possibilities are endless.

You can also serve the baked tortilla flowers as fancy chips with salsa. Before you bake them, sprinkle them with sea salt (maybe even a bit of chili flakes or paprika), and that's a wrap!

What you need

Instructions

1. Turn your oven to 175°C/ 350° F (grill setting).

2. Use the flower cutter to shape the tortilla.

3. Place the tortilla flowers in the muffin tin and press down the middle.

4. Brush a thin layer of olive oil on top of the tortilla flowers.

5. Bake for 2-3 minutes until the flowers are golden.

6. Remove the muffin tin from the oven, and leave the flowers to come to room temperature and firm up in the form.

7. To make the whipped feta, blend the feta, yogurt, and garlic until creamy. You can also mix this by hand.

8. Add sea salt to taste.

9. Slice an avocado in half.

10. Remove the peel.

11. Cut the avocado half finely lengthwise.

12. Separate and place 4-5 avocado pieces inside the tortilla flowers so they overlap.

13. Top with a spoonful of whipped feta.

14. Sprinkle with za'atar and top with a basil leaf.

15. Serve.
