Serve the board as an appetizer or enjoy it as a snack over the holidays with my no-knead focaccia. Feel free to add homemade crackers, crostini, and any condiments you like.

Christmas Charcuterie Board Ingredients

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!

  • Cheese: I use mozzarella balls and cheddar for their mild taste.
  • Pecans: Opt for whole pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Cured meat:  Both ham and salami pair well with the creamy cheese.
  • Cherry tomatoes, olives, and red peppers: Add color, sweetness, and tang.
Seven small glass bowls containing pecans, black olives, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, sliced cheddar, salami with ham, and a red bell pepper arranged on a gray surface.

How to Make a Holiday Charcuterie Board

  1. Prepare the ingredients. Slice the cheddar into squares and batons, fold the salami, trim the red pepper bows, and slice the olives for the eyes and mouth.
  2. Arrange the ingredients. Working from the top down, add a mozzarella ball, cherry tomatoes, cheddar, ham, more mozzarella balls, salami, and pecans.
  3. Final touches. Top with red pepper bows, mozzarella, olive eyes, and an olive mouth.

Possible Variations

  • Mozzarella: Swap for cubes of hard cheese or mini buffalo mozzarella balls.
  • Cheddar: Use any hard cheese you like.
  • Cherry tomatoes: Replace with tomato slices, mini red peppers, or radishes.
  • Salami: Any deli meat will work.
  • Pecans: Try walnuts or almonds or omit.
  • Use the empty spaces to add crackers or crostini slices.

FAQs

Can I prepare the board in advance?

Absolutely. Once you assemble it, keep it covered and refrigerated.

How do I make sure the cherry tomatoes don’t roll off the board?

Place them stem-side down (it’s a bit flatter).
