Quick to prepare, this fruit arrangement results in bite-sized pieces ideal for snacking.

I often experiment with a wide variety of fruit arrangements, like my Easter fruit tray, fresh fruit platter, and fruit rainbow when hosting gatherings. They’re all delicious, but this flower fruit bouquet is one of my favorites for a special occasion like a birthday party or Valentine’s Day.

It’s easy to customize with a variety of fresh fruit, herbs, and toppings, and always a favorite with family and friends. Prepare a large tray in minutes, serve it as part of a snack platter, give it as a gift, or enjoy it by yourself as a sweet treat on hot summer days!

Recipe Tip

Add more detail such as a real bow or top with basil leaves (maybe even a mango bee).

How to Make a Fruit Bouquet

  1. Slice the watermelon.
  2. Cut out the flowers.
  3. Scoop out the mango balls.
  4. Assemble the fruit flowers on a platter and garnish with the basil stalks.

Possible Variations

  • Watermelon: Strawberries or any other melons.
  • Mango: Try dragonfruit, kiwi, blueberries, or red currant. You can even use chocolate chips or flat, round sprinkles as the center.
  • Basil: Swap for chives or pipe the stems out of dark chocolate.
  • Presentation: Use a combination of fruits to the bouquet even more colorful!

How to Store Leftovers

Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy within 1 day.

FAQs

Can I make the platter in advance?

Yes! You can prepare it a few hours in advance, then cover it with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until serving. Be sure to dry the watermelon flowers with paper towel before arranging them to limit the juices.

What do I do with all the odd pieces of fruit I have leftover?

I like to dice them into smaller pieces and freeze them to add to smoothies or juices.
