Ingredients

Instructions

Makes 1 large platter.

Instructions for the Carrot Ghosts:

1. Cut a 7-8 cm (3 inches) piece of carrot and then slice it.

2. Using a knife, curve the top and zig-zag the bottom of each slice.

3. Use a metal straw for the eyes and mouth.

Instructions for the Clementine Pumpkins:

1. Peel the clementines.

2. Add a little piece of basil stems on top of the clementines to resemble a pumpkin.

Instructions for the Spooky Eyes:

1. Melt the dark chocolate.

2. Place the melted chocolate in a little bowl.

3. Dip the top of the grapes into the chocolate.

4. Top with a candy eye and allow to set.

Instructions for the Red and Yellow Pepper Ghosts:

1. Stick on candy eyes using some edible glue.

2. Add a mouth with a metal straw dipped in melted dark chocolate.

Instructions for the Kiwi Frankensteins:

1. Halve the kiwi lengthwise.

2. Cut a line across the top third of the kiwi.

3. Use a peeler to remove the skin underneath the line.

4. Dry the kiwi with a piece of kitchen towel.

5. Top with candy eyes.

6. Make the scar and mouth details with melted chocolate and a toothpick.

7. Stick pretzel stick ends into the side of the Frankensteins.

Instructions for the Strawberry Monster Teeth:

1. Remove the leaves from the strawberries.

2. Dip a small spoon into melted dark chocolate and then onto the front of a strawberry so it resembles a mouth. Use chopped pieces of flaked almonds or white chocolate discs as teeth.

3. Allow to set.

Instructions for the Witch Pretzel Broomsticks:

1. Cut the cheese into little blocks. Mine were about 4 cm. x 2 cm. (1.5 inches x 0.8 inches).

2. Trim broom bristles into the bottom half of the block. I made two or three cuts across on both sides.

3. Use a metal straw at the top of the block to create a hole. The cheese should come out with the straw if you move it back and forth gently.

4. Insert the pretzel stick carefully into the hole.

Instructions for the Melon Tombstones:

1. Slice the cantaloupe.

2. Shape the tombstones by hand. You can use a glass for the curved top.

3. Dry off the melon with a piece of kitchen towel (this will ensure the dark chocolate will be set properly).

4. Add melted dark chocolate to a piping utensil / bag and shape the word 'RIP’.

5. Allow to set

Arrange the platter.
