Prep Time: 25 min.

True to their name, these cute-as-a-button appetizers are delicious, not to mention easy to put together. All you need is some croustades, which you fill with a whipped garlic cream cheese. Then, you top them off with a two-cheddar button detail. If you prefer, you can skip the cream cheese and use guacamole, tzatziki or any other dip you like instead.

Ingredients

Instructions

1. Mix the ingredients for the cream cheese filling: yogurt, cream cheese and a minced clove of garlic. You can blend it in a mini food processor or by hand, depending on how whipped you like it.

2. Add sea salt and pepper to taste.

3. Use the medium round cutter to make the red and white cheddar discs.

4. Place the small round cutter in the center of the red cheddar discs to shape the outer round red part of the button.

5. Make four round cutouts in the center of the white cheddar disc using a metal straw - two on top and two on the bottom.

6. Place the red cheddar ring on top of the white cheddar disc.

7. Fill the croustates with the small red cheddar cutouts you have left over.

8. Now, top with the cream cheese mixture.

9. Finally, place the cheddar buttons on top.

Notes

I used goat cream cheese for the filling, but you can use any. You can add paprika, chili, or finely chopped herbs such as basil, chives or parsley to your filling.

The cookie cutters are part of a set and are linked in my Shop.
