This guacamole dip recipe is creamy and bright with a satisfying crunch. Higher in protein than your typical guac, it’s easy to customize and perfect for hosting.

With its pretty flower appearance, this dip looks elegant, but it comes together with just a few simple ingredients in a matter of minutes. I often serve it on its own as a filling snack.

It’s also great for parties alongside a hummus platter and artisan crackers. Mix and match different ingredients to make it your own, and your loved ones will all be asking how you made the perfect guacamole dip.
Guacamole Dip Ingredients
Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!
- Avocado: I prefer Hass avocados. You want to use ripe avocados that are soft, but not stringy.
- Cucumber: Either English or Persian cucumber.
- Greek yogurt: I use 10% fat Greek yogurt, but any will do.
- Red onion: Adds a slightly sharp taste.
- Lime and lemon: For acidity and freshness.
- Sesame seeds: Use white and black seeds for crunch (not pictured).
- Seasoning: Sea salt and pepper. Add to taste.

How to Make Guacamole Dip
- Prepare the ingredients: Dice the red onion, mash the avocados, and slice the cucumber at an angle.
- Make the dip: Mix the mashed avocado, diced red onion, yogurt, fresh lime juice, and lemon juice. Season well.
- Assemble the platter: Spoon the dip into a dome shape in the center of a medium-sized plate. Add the cucumber slices along the dip in a flower pattern.
- Final details: Sprinkle the edge of the dip with sesame seeds.

Possible Variations
- Greek yogurt: Sour cream works too, or omit.
- Cucumber: Use sliced carrots, peppers, radish, tortilla chips, or crackers.
- Lemon and lime: Try grapefruit juice or pickle juice.
- Red onion: Swap for white onion or shallots.
- Sesame seeds: Use any seeds you like, or chopped pistachios, herbs, Everything but the Bagel seasoning, or edible flowers.
- Add-ins: Garlic, your favorite herbs (cilantro, mint, basil, dill), jalapeño, serrano pepper, onion powder, white onion, chopped roma tomatoes, cumin, or chili flakes.
- Presentation: Cover the entire dip with seeds for a different look (as pictured below).
