All you need is store-bought pizza dough and a few sausages, and you’ll be well on your way to making adorable rolls everyone will love to snack on.

If you prefer not to use candy eyes, you can omit them or use an edible marker or peppercorns.

Feel free to add other details – use pretzel sticks for arms or add tomato hats like I did on this snowman stick platter.

These festive sausage rolls make the perfect party food served with your favorite dipping sauce. Sriracha mayo, ketchup, marinara sauce, mustard, and garlic sour cream dip are all great options.

Equipment

  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 280 grams pizza dough, 1 roll
  • 4 sausages
  • 20 candy eyes
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 20 peppercorns
  • 1 small carrot

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C / 374°F.
  • Cut the sausages into 2-3 inch (5-7 cm) pieces.
  • Trim a long rectangular piece of pizza dough slightly wider than each sausage piece.
  • Roll the sausage into the dough and fold over the excess at each end neatly.
  • Cut a long, thin, rectangular piece of dough and wrap this around the snowman to make a scarf.
  • Use scissors to cut fringes on the ends of the scarf.
  • Brush the snowmen with egg wash.
  • Top with peppercorns to make the buttons.
  • Bake for 10-14 minutes until golden brown.
  • Trim tiny triangles out of carrot for the noses, and lay these onto the faces of the baked snowmen. You can use a small amount of edible glue to make them stick, but I just placed mine on top.
  • Top with candy eyes (if you wet the back, they should stick when they dry).
  • Serve.
