They are perfect for the 4th of July, New Year’s Eve, anniversaries, and other special occasions.

I love to use pretzels with a variety of sweet treats, like my chocolate pretzel spiders, chocolate Christmas trees, and these firework-shaped pretzel bites. Not only are they a great way to add charm to any dessert, but the salty flavor pairs wonderfully with the sweet chocolate.

Recipe Tip

Mix and match different toppings to make these pretzel snacks your own. My kids especially love adding their own sprinkles and creating funny faces.

Serve the chocolate-covered pretzels as is, or stick them in an ice cream sundae or chocolate cake for a little something extra. Prepare them for your next gathering, and you’ll have a sweet and savory snack loved by both kids and adults!

Pretzel Snacks Ingredients

  • Pretzels: Use sticks.
  • Dark chocolate: I prefer anything with 55-70% cocoa solids. Make sure it melts well.
  • Candy eyes: For even more charm and fun!
  • Sprinkles: For a pop of color.

How to Make Pretzel Chocolate Snacks

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Melt the dark chocolate and cover the pretzels 3/4 of the way up.
  2. Pipe the fireworks: Pour the chocolate into a piping utensil or bag. Pipe the chocolate fireworks onto each chocolate pretzel.
  3. Final details: Top with candy eyes and sprinkles. Allow to set.

Possible Variations

  • Pretzels: Mikado sticks, or similar small breadsticks, would be a great alternative. You can also ditch the pretzels and pipe chocolate fireworks onto lolly sticks.
  • Dark chocolate: Swap for white, milk, or flavored chocolate.
  • Sprinkles: Use any colorful sprinkles you like, or try chopped pistachios, chia seeds, sesame seeds, or pomegranate arils.
  • Toppings: Add a rolo chocolate or similar to the center of the fireworks to make a 3D face.

How to Store Leftovers

Store leftover chocolate fireworks in an airtight container, stacking parchment paper between each layer. If your kitchen is warm enough to melt the chocolate, transfer it to the refrigerator.
