Honey Roasted Potatoes Ingredients
Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!
- Potatoes: I used large baking potatoes for this recipe and cut them into small 1-inch (2.5 cm) chunks. Any yellow potato variety will work well.
- Butter: Salted butter is my go-to here.
- Honey: A runny honey or maple syrup is perfect.
- Seasoning: I use sea salt and pepper to round off the flavors. Adjust to your liking.

How to Make Honey Roasted Potatoes
- Prepare the ingredients. Wash and dice the potatoes. Soak them in cold water, and dry them completely.
- Coat the potatoes with melted butter, honey, and seasoning.
- Bake on a lined baking sheet for 40-45 minutes until golden.

Tips and Tricks
- Cut the potatoes into the same size to ensure a similar cook time.
- If you are in a rush, skip the soak and give the diced potatoes a quick double rinse.
- Dry the potatoes thoroughly. This helps to give them a crisp exterior.
- Spread out the potatoes when roasting so they don’t overlap.
Possible Variations
- Honey: Use any honey you like. If yours is the thicker kind, heat it with the butter for a runny consistency. Swap for maple syrup or hot honey.
- Butter: Unsalted butter, ghee, or olive oil are all good options.
- Potatoes: If you can’t find baking potatoes, use baby potatoes or sweet potatoes. Even parsnips and carrots would be a tasty alternative.
- Seasoning: Add any dried (or fresh) spices you like, such as a sprinkle of garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, chili flakes, rosemary, oregano, or even cinnamon.
