  • White chocolate: For the scalloped outline (not pictured).
  • Dark chocolate: Use a good-quality chocolate, ideally with 55-70% cocoa solids (I love Lindt and Valhrona).
  • Berries: Choose firm and fresh berries that aren’t bruised or soft.
  • Chocolate balls: I used Maltesers, but any round chocolates will work.

How to Make Dark Chocolate Bark

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Cut out a heart-shaped piece of parchment paper. Melt the white chocolate. Pipe the white chocolate dots along the parchment heart.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate: Spread it out to fill the heart.
  3. Top with berries and chocolate balls.
  4. Garnish with basil and allow to set.

Dark Chocolate Bark

Ingredients 

  • 100 grams white chocolate
  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 250 grams blueberries
  • 125 grams blackberries
  • 50 grams Maltesers, or similar
  • fresh basil leaves, to garnish

Instructions 

  • Melt the white chocolate in a small pot over low heat, in a double boiler, or in the microwave.
  • Be sure to stir constantly, as white chocolate burns easily.
  • Cut a heart out of parchment paper. 
  • Place the paper heart on a larger piece of parchment paper.
  • Pour the white chocolate into a piping utensil or bag.
  • Letting the parchment heart guide you, pipe white chocolate discs along the perimeter.
  • Allow the white chocolate to set.
  • Melt the dark chocolate and pour it into a piping utensil.
  • Pipe a heart through the middle of all the white chocolate dots.
  • Spoon the remaining melted chocolate into the center of the heart.
  • Spread it out to cover the entire heart.
  • Top with berries and Maltesers.
  • Allow to set.
  • Garnish with a few basil leaves.
