Chocolate Butterflies with Oreos are a fun and impressive snack that require only a few ingredients.

This easy recipe is perfect to make with the kids.

Serve these adorable chocolates at themed parties, or top them onto cakes and cupcakes for a whimsical touch. They would even make a great gift.

Feel free to replace the Oreos with any round chocolate biscuits you prefer. If you fancy milk chocolate, just swap it out for dark. You can even replace blueberries with raspberries, chocolate buttons, or nuts.

A hand holds a butterfly-shaped treat made from a chocolate-covered cookie with blueberries as wings and two small candy eyes on top—one of those creative food recipes that turns treats into playful bites. Other blueberries and a plate are in the background.

Ingredients

  • 4 Oreos
  • 100 grams dark chocolate, 3.5 oz
  • 16 mini candy eyes
  • blueberries
  • piping utensil / bag
  • parchment paper

Instructions

  • Halve the Oreos. I find it helps prevent cracks if you cut them swiftly.
  • Melt the dark chocolate.
  • Place the dark chocolate in a piping utensil / bag.
  • Pipe chocolate onto the parchment paper in the width and height of the cut side of the Oreo.
  • Stick the halved Oreo on top of the chocolate and push it down so the chocolate spreads out.
  • Pipe the butterfly's half-8 shaped wings to each side.
  • Top with a large and small blueberry.
  • Add two small blobs of dark chocolate on top of the Oreo.
  • Place two mini candy eyes onto the blobs.
  • Allow the chocolate butterfly to set.
  • Serve.
