If you’re a fan of cheese, you'll love these tasty Cheesy Baked Tacos, made with cheddar.
This easy homemade taco recipe is an excellent alternative to store-bought hard-shell tacos.
All you do is place shredded cheddar onto a baking sheet and bake in discs until they are bubbly and golden!
Top the crispy cheesy tacos with a seasoned ground beef, creamy guacamole, sour cream, and chopped green onion for an impressive snack or appetizer.
You can even make a big platter for Taco Tuesday and let everyone top their own.
Lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, refried beans, pico de gallo, or even more cheese are great options!
Ground beef tacos can be adjusted however you like - use ground turkey, ground chicken, or even beef strips. Yum. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 100 grams grated cheddar (red)
- 24 slices jalapeños
- parchment paper
- 100 grams ground beef
- 1/4 small red onion
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- a pinch of coconut sugar
- sea salt
- 1 avocado
- squeeze of lemon
- squeeze of lime
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- sour cream
- green onion
Instructions
Makes 8.
1. Turn the oven to 180° C / 355°F.
2. Heat a small pan on medium-high heat.
3. Add the taco seasoning to the dry pan (onion, garlic, chili, turmeric powder, paprika, coconut sugar, and sea salt).
4. Add the ground beef once fragrant (after about 1-2 minutes).
5. Brown the meat all over and then remove it from the heat.
6. Place parchment paper onto a baking sheet.
7. Shred the cheese using a grater.
8. Divide the shredded cheese into six piles.
9. Shape them into discs.
10. Top each disc with three (or more) jalapeños (optional).
11. Bake in the oven until bubbly, melted, and browned (4-5 minutes).
12. Remove from the oven.
13. Spoon the browned meat on top of half the crispy cheese taco.
14. Flip the empty cheese half on top of the half with the meat.
15. Plate the tacos.
16. To make the guacamole, smash the avocado with the minced garlic, finely chopped red onion, lime, and lemon juice.
17. Add sea salt to taste.
18. Spoon the guacamole on top of the cheese-baked tacos.
19. Top with sour cream.
20. Sprinkle with chopped green onion.
21. Serve.
