Feta & Mango Appetizer Ingredients

Please be sure to scroll down to the recipe card below for the complete details!

  • Mango: Choose a firm, unbruised mango with a slightly soft feel.
  • Feta: A block of feta will give the best taste.
  • Fresh basil: Balances the savory and sweet flavors and doubles to make the corn ‘husk’.

How to Make Feta & Mango Appetizers

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Slice the mango and cut out the oval shapes. Repeat with the feta.
  2. Add the details: Score the mango in a grid pattern.
  3. Assemble and plate: Top the feta with mango. Add basil leaves to garnish. Top with olive oil and balsamic glaze or serve them as they are.

Recipe Tip

If you don’t have a cookie cutter, trim the corn by hand or cut the mango and feta into similar-sized cubes.

Possible Variations

  • Mango: Try cantaloupe, yellow watermelon, or papaya.
  • Feta: Swap for goat cheese, aged cheddar, or mozzarella.
  • Fruit: Instead of cheese, make a fruit version with watermelon, pear, strawberries, or avocado.
  • Dressing: Try olive oil and balsamic glaze, lime juice and honey, or lemon juice and maple syrup.
  • Serving suggestion: Top the bites onto crostini or salads.

FAQs

Can I make the bites in advance?

Yes, they will stay fresh for hours if you cover them with plastic wrap and store then in the fridge.

I’m worried my guests won’t like the combination. What do I do?

You can serve the mango and feta cheese separately without stacking them, so your guests can pick and choose. Add other options to mix n’ match with such as watermelon, pear, and strawberries.
