You can replace hummus with pesto, cream cheese, or even whipped feta.

A squeeze of lemon juice on top would be delicious too.

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 tortilla
  • 2 tablespoons hummus
  • sprinkle of chili flakes
  • sprinkle of sea salt
  • 11 fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  • Start with making the tortilla cutouts using the flower cutter.
  • Brush the tortilla pieces with olive oil and broil in a hot oven for 2-3 minutes.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Halve and peel the avocado.
  • Lay the flat side down and slice it lengthwise. Ideally, you want slices that are 2 mm (around 1/16th inch).
  • Flatten the avocado with your palm and fan all the slices in the same direction.
  • Use the flower cutter to cut out the avocado flowers.
  • Top the baked tortilla flowers with hummus and the fanned avocado flowers.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt and chili flakes.
