Get everyone excited about Christmas and cheese with this adorable Christmas Cheese Platter in the shape of a snowman. Serve it as a festive appetizer with olive tapenade, pesto, or even a tasty fig jam.

If you prefer not to use candy eyes or cloves, try peppercorns or cucumber peel.

A snowman-shaped cheese ball appetizer, perfect for festive bites, is decorated with black olive eyes, a carrot nose, clove buttons and mouth, basil leaf arms, a tomato-and-mozzarella hat, and surrounded by round crackers.

Ingredients 

  • 2 fresh mozzarella
  • 1 small carrot
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 bocconcini
  • 2 candy eyes
  • 9 cloves
  • 1 canapé stick
  • fresh basil
  • crackers

Instructions 

  • Let the mozzarella dry off on a piece of kitchen towel.
  • Slice the bottom of a tomato.
  • Use a knife or spoon to remove the seeds.
  • Top the tomato with a half bocconcini to make the hat.
  • Place the smallest mozzarella on top of the largest on the serving platter you intend to use.
  • Push a canapé stick through the hat first and then the mozzarella to keep the snowman in place.
  • Insert six cloves in the top mozzarella in the shape of a mouth.
  • You need three cloves in the bottom mozzarella for the buttons.
  • Trim a small piece of carrot into a triangle for the nose.
  • Add the candy eyes (you can also use cloves or peppercorns).
  • Squeeze two basil leaves between the two cheeses to make a scarf.
  • Arrange crackers around the snowman and serve.
