Spooky Salad

Ingredients

  • 4 vine tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 fresh mozzarella balls
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • sea salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the tomato and arrange on a platter. Top with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  • Slice the mozzarella and use the mini melon baller to cut out eyes and a mouth.
  • Trim the wavy bottom of the ghosts. I used a cookie cutter, but you can also zig-zag this part with a knife.
  • Slice the cucumber.
  • Make a symmetrical indent for the jaw.
  • Use the metal straw to shape the holes for the eyes.
  • To shape the teeth, cut two small v-shapes in the jaw.
  • Make a few turns with a toothpick or lolly stick to make the nose.
  • Top the tomatoes with the mozzarella ghosts and cucumber skulls.
  • Fill the ghosts’ scooped eyes and mouths with balsamic glaze.
  • Drizzle the salad with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
  • Serve.
