Bunny Caprese Platter

Ingredients

  • 3 fresh mozzarella balls or 1 maxi
  • 1 slice of ham
  • 300 grams cherry tomatoes mixed colors
  • 9 leaves of fresh basil
  • 1 kalamata olive
  • medium petal-shaped cookie cutter
  • medium round cookie cutter
  • small petal-shaped cookie cutter
  • metal straw
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • sprinkle of sea salt
  • pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  • Slice the mozzarella cheese.
  • Cut out two mozzarella ears with the medium petal-shaped cutter.
  • Shape the remaining slices into round discs with the medium round cutter.
  • Cut out the pink ham belly with the round cutter and ham.
  • Make the inside of the ears using ham and the small petal-shaped cutter.
  • Arrange all the mozzarella discs onto a platter (you will need 8 for the body and 6 for the face).
  • Top with the ham details.
  • Halve a kalamata olive and shape the eyes with a metal straw.
  • Trim the back of the olive eyes so they are flat.
  • Shape the nose and nostrils.
  • Top these, as well as the eyes, onto the bunny.
  • Scatter fresh basil leaves below the bunny.
  • Arrange the cherry tomatoes (I used red, orange, and yellow).
  • Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  • Serve.
